What the form collects
- Your name, phone number and ZIP code.
- The pest or service you choose (including the pest or service card you tapped on the page, if any), and your email address or a note if you add them.
- Whether you ticked the text-message box, if one is shown. It is never pre-ticked.
What is added automatically
- The service and location shown on the page, the page address, the time you sent the form, and a reference number for your request. After sending, the reference and your first name are kept in your browser tab’s session storage so the confirmation page can show them; they are cleared when that page opens.
- Whether your ZIP code is on the page’s list of service-area ZIP codes. A ZIP code that is not on the list is still accepted; the office confirms your address.
- How long the form was open before sending. This is used only to filter automated submissions. To limit abuse, the server also counts how many requests come from one internet address in an hour; it keeps that count for an hour and nothing else.
- If you arrived from an advertisement: campaign details from the link, such as utm_source or a Google click identifier. These are kept in your browser tab’s session storage and are cleared when the tab is closed.
How it is used
To call you about this request and to understand which advertisements lead to requests. Sending the form does not sign you up for marketing emails or text messages.
How it is sent, and who receives it
When you send the form, your request is emailed to the business from this website’s own server and added to a private Google Sheet that the business uses to follow up on requests. The sheet is kept in the business’s own Google account, so Google stores it on the business’s behalf; the request is not stored on this website’s server. It is received by PestMaster of Naperville/Wheaton and by the people who answer enquiries on its behalf. To confirm: how long requests are kept in the sheet, and who has access to it.
Analytics and advertising
When analytics or advertising tags are switched on for this page, they record page visits, taps on the phone number and the quote buttons, when the form is started, form errors (the kind of error only, never what you typed) and completed form requests, together with the reference number of a completed request. A separate setting, switched off by default, would also share your phone number, email address (if given), name and ZIP code for a completed request with the advertising platform in hashed form, so the request can be matched to the advertisement that led to it. To confirm before launch: which tags are enabled, whether that setting is used, and any consent requirements.
